If you’re poor, Ryan thinks you should pay even more taxes. That’s right, under the Ryan budget, those making less than $30,000 will pay more taxes while also getting fewer government services. It’s a double screw!
And if you’re a woman, here’s hoping you won’t have to go to Planned Parenthood for any medical reason during a Romney presidency, because Ryan has voted to defund that. He has also voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and he’s a strong proponent of life beginning at the moment of conception to boot. (But hey girl, he’s doing it all for you…so it’s all good, right?)
Are you a student? You’re really screwed then. Under the Ryan plan, Pell Grants will be even tougher to get, and they’ll be worth less. For those on student loans, your interest rate will double from 3.4 to 6.8 percent, ensuring Ryan can continue to screw you over for years and years and years to come.
The list goes on. Veterans will be screwed because Ryan’s budget will cut $11 billion from their budget. Those planning on turning 65 will be screwed because Paul Ryan wants to get rid of Medicare as we know it. And Zach Woods will be screwed because…well…because he looks like Paul Ryan.
In fact, the only people who won’t get screwed in all of this are the rich. Which gives us all a couple more weeks to make those first few millions (or maybe billions—you know, just to be on the safe side).

Conservatives Bash Sandra Fluke’s Convention Speech, Parroting Limbaugh’s Sexist Attacks
Despite the widespread outcry against Rush Limbaugh’s and Bill O’Reilly’s sexist smears against Sandra Fluke earlier this year — when they claimed she was a “slut” who wants the government to pay for her “social life” — other far-right commentators haven’t quite grasped why these types of attacks are offensive. After Fluke took to the stage of the Democratic National Convention last night to articulate the issues at stake in the ongoing War on Women, conservative media took to Twitter to bash her for “whining” about needing free birth control for the activities that go on in her “bedroom”.
All I can say is, keep talking shitheads.
Look at how ANGRY these people are that a woman tried to talk in a place she was shut out from talking in. Jfc.
Conservative women, particularly S.E. Cupp, confuse the shit out of me. How the fuck can you fly under a banner of feminism and then say the vile shit that you say?? You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. You are a disgrace. At least Ann Coulter is honest in her own asinine, creepy, ultra-misogynistic way.

EVERY Republican senator has voted to block the Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill that would help make sure women get equal pay for equal work. Mitt Romney also refuses to take a position on this issue.
Recall All Republicans 2012.

Indeed.

There is often a gender gap between the two political parties, with woman voters tending to favor the Democrats while a majority of men support Republican candidates. In recent weeks, however, as the Republican Party has become embroiled in the contraception issue, that gap has widened into an abyss.
GEE! I WONDER HOW THAT HAPPENED!?

WELL GOLLY GOSH, I JUST HAVE NO IDEA.

BEING A WOMAN IS NOT A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION!
WHY would any GOP candidate vow to repeal healthcare reform? Why? If you can’t think of a logical reason and they continue to give you bullshit reasons, eventually you have to draw the conclusion that the entire party is anti-woman. And that’s it. If you vote for a GOP candidate, I question your sanity and morality.

Rick Santorum is a pious hypocrite.
Yeah, in case you’ve forgotten, his wife had a life-saving abortion. And I doubt they required her to have a transvaginal ultrasound or get a signed note from her husband or listen to the heartbeat or wait 72 hours or any of that bullshit. -Jess
are you fucking kidding me? i didn’t know that.
that fucking bastard.
You know, I really do hate this man with every fiber of my being, but I never thought he’d be so hypocritical. I thought that someone with such STRONG “MORAL” CONVICTIONS would stay true to his word. I honestly thought that the son of a bitch would let his wife die in this kind of situation… but no.
No, not his wife. Just anyone else’s wife.
I truly hate this motherfucker. If he gets the nomination, and ANYONE I know votes for him, I will break all ties with them. No exceptions.

Bad as you thought it would be? Yes!
Here’s a rule: When you, as legislators with neither professional medical experience nor personal experience being pregnant, pass laws that result in doctors and nurses repeatedly apologizing to sobbing women, you’re doing something wrong.
“I am so sorry,” the young woman said with compassion, and nudged the tissues closer. Then, after a moment’s pause, she told me reluctantly about the new Texas sonogram law that had just come into effect. I’d already heard about it. The law passed last spring but had been suppressed by legal injunction until two weeks earlier.
My counselor said that the law required me to have another ultrasound that day, and that I was legally obligated to hear a doctor describe my baby. I’d then have to wait 24 hours before coming back for the procedure. She said that I could either see the sonogram or listen to the baby’s heartbeat, adding weakly that this choice was mine.
“I don’t want to have to do this at all,” I told her. “I’m doing this to prevent my baby’s suffering. I don’t want another sonogram when I’ve already had two today. I don’t want to hear a description of the life I’m about to end. Please,” I said, “I can’t take any more pain.” I confess that I don’t know why I said that. I knew it was fait accompli. The counselor could no more change the government requirement than I could. Yet here was a superfluous layer of torment piled upon an already horrific day, and I wanted this woman to know it.
In this horrifying case, the woman was terminating a much-wanted pregnancy. But it only takes a little imagination – and I suppose the compassion that anti-choice politicians have shown they clearly can’t muster – to think of other reasons patients and doctors might not want clueless politicians inserting their own views into the doctor’s office. As Carolyn Jones asks, “Shouldn’t women have a right to protect themselves from strangers’ opinions on their most personal matters?”
Laws have human consequences. When will politicians get the message?
This (continues to be) not at all acceptable. As a transguy who can’t afford a hysterectomy (because I’m 26 and the government says that I might want babies, doncha know?), I get regular apologies from my primary care physician for pap tests and the like, which I need for actual health purposes. This is religious, quasi-political abuse, plain and simple.
What was that about America being the greatest country in the world? Where? How? In what fucking universe? This country has become a horrible cesspool of backwards-thinking zealots who care more about their fairytales than they do about the rights of a human being.
