The Inner Machinations of My Mind

Obama looked like a man beaten.

Romney vomited up the same bullshit he’s been choking up for the last year.

And now I’m listening to the morons on CNN talk about how Romney was the victor because of his demeanor and “facts.”

… Demeanor? Sure, he was all smiley and energetic.

Facts? No. Let’s not get fucking ahead of ourselves.

I’m pretty good at arguing and debating about shit that I know a decent amount about, but the entire pro-life/pro-choice debate is bothersome to me.

I stand behind a fundamental principle of choice; simply that a person needs to be able to have the freedom to choose what is best for their life. And to me, this principle trumps all arguments for life. I’m not swayed by any pro-life argument anymore, religious or not.

However, I find it difficult to argue with pro-lifers because they have this one liner that they seem to use universally and it’s always something like, “Okay, so you think women should be able to kill the baby.”

The language they use bothers me because it’s not a baby. A string of cells isn’t a baby. Every cell in your body is a potential human being, so when you take showers and wash away dead skin cells and new cells die, you’re technically killing billions of “babies.” It’s nonsense and I cannot deal with such an argument. However, they do make it difficult to come back at. I just feel I’m at a loss for words with these people lately.

I’m open to learning new arguments and seeing if I can employ them next time I’m presented with this mundane subject.

This was a sub-par debate in my opinion. Listening to Dawkins trying to explain scientific theories and facts while people were laughing at him… not my thing. Especially when the idiot cardinal kept ranting and raving about nonsense of which he knew nothing about, WHILE being applauded for it…

Every Debate with a Creationist Ever

Raise the volume. lol

LMAO, this debate is amazing. Watching Fry and Hitchens destroy their opposition is always entertaining, but this one was particularly insulting and I loved every minute of it. I’ll post the link for those of you who would like to see:

There are 5 parts, enjoy!

LOL, I’ve heard this before.

I started watching the intelligence squared debate on the catholic church to see Mr Fry. But i’m so into it.
I’m sitting here nodding with everything Hitchens has to say. I doubt anyone could win against Fry and Hitchens.

He really is one of the most inspirational people I can think of. I wish to be half as smart as he is someday. I don’t know what I want to do with my life, but I would like very much to be at least something like him.
