Because laws that limit people’s reproductive choices are only good things when it *doesn’t* cost you money, apparently. The Catholic hospital’s lawyers are arguing that, since the unborn are not people with legal rights under Colorado law, they are not liable for their deaths (the case is a wrongful death suit for the mother, who was 7 months along with twins). And they are correct. A fetus does not have the same rights as a born human being. But Catholics, come on. Either you ideologically believe fetuses are people, or they aren’t. You don’t get to decide which is which when it suits your fancy. Pick one.

Bahahahaha, pro-life so long as it doesn’t cost you money?

A perfect example of what’s wrong with religious parenting.

Getting reeeeeal tired of seeing this kinda shit on my newsfeed on facebook. I deleted someone today, and I have a funny feeling I’m going to be deleting a lot more people before this year has concluded.

If the Westboro Baptist Church counts as a cult so do:

  • Southern
  • Baptist Churches
  • Baptist Churches
  • Presbyterian Churches
  • Seven Day Adventists
  • Non-Denominational Churches
  • Mormons (not that many non-Mormons will argue me there, hypocrites)
  • Evangelical Churches
  • Anglican Churches
  • Calvinist Churches
  • The Amish
  • Quakers (That includes my mother btw)
  • Lutheran Churches
  • Basically any Protestant Churches I missed
  • Catholic Churches
  • The Current State of the Orthodox Christian Church
  • Basically all of modern Christianity
The Westboro Baptist Church is using the exact same passages from the exact same book that allows the entire religion to pick and choose what they want to apply to their life.
These guys just apply shittier parts.

Truth.

The Christian scriptures were written between about 2,000 years before Christ to about 200 years after Christ. Modern science came to be with Galileo up through Newton, up through Einstein; what we know as modern science is in that period. How in the world could there be any science in scripture? There cannot be. The two historical periods are separated by so much. The scriptures are not teaching science. It’s very hard for me to accept not just a literal interpretation of scripture, but a fundamentalist approach to religious belief. It’s kind of a plague. It presents itself as science, and it’s not.
